DAILY PRAYERS
Dear Father in heaven, we thank you for our dear friend Janet and her family who are now part of our loving Church community. Janet’s ministry with us, as Southern Synod Chaplain and especially her work in the local community, mainly with the elderly, can be very challenging but stimulating. We pray that you will always be gracious to her, revealing your great goodness and power. Let your goodness be revealed to her and all the people she will be involved with as they deal with the complexity of life and in some cases terminal illnesses. Father, you know that for some people growing old can be a graceful and relaxing experience, while for others it can be quite terrifying, especially for those with Dementia which is often linked to Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. Friends are essential, and Janet in her unique role as Advocate for the Elderly, will be working ecumenically to support them, and be there to offer comfort and friendship to many of the residents who are living permanently in care homes in the Bognor Regis area.
Let your light shine on all of them. Let your name be glorified. You are indeed our Father, both in heaven and on earth. Give Janet, and her very supportive husband, Frank, and her family, and those people Janet is trying to help, security and everlasting peace now and in eternity.
Amen.
